The Women's British Open, which begins Thursday, is being played at the historic Old Course at St. Andrews in Scotland for the first time. Until recently, the historic course featured a sign outside the clubhouse behind the 18th green that read, "No dogs or women allowed." The clubhouse will be open to women during the Open.
And the think this is the year 2007, Glad to see they're finally catching up with the 21st century. Of course this is Scotland we're talking about not the US... but none the less.
Somehow it figures though. Golf was for many years a mans game. There was a false tale going around that GOLF was an acronym meaning Gentlemen only, ladies forbidden. Totally BS.

Lol, I've never heard of that acronym before, but it's kinda funny. But I don't believe in it. None the less, I find it absolutely ridiculous that the sign is just now coming down. What the heck is that all about?...
i honestly think that women want so much to be near men or their man that they want to take on the things that they do. Some things should be left for men.
Well times are changing. It wasn't too long ago what 5, 7 years when there was the big scuttle butt about Tiger Woods, cuz he's part black playing in some tournament, I can't remember which.
Fuzzy Zoeller. He was at a barbecue at his house and a reporter asked him what he thought about Tiger winning the Green Jacket, and he made some comment about them changing th menu at the dinner for the Masters to chicken and watermelon. He later apologized, but it was more or less because he had to.
