Don Alexander, a 69-year-old Toronto fan was pressed into service as the emergency caddy after U.S. pro Jay Williamson fired his bag-man, named Mike Mollet, at the 15th tee of yesterday's first round of the Canadian Open. His payment was a dozen new golf balls and a story to tell. "At the 14th hole, Williamson hit it over the green and he and his caddy started having words. It got hotter and hotter and hotter," Alexander said. "At the 15th tee they went at it again and Williamson fired him on the spot. The caddy then threw a handful of golf balls into the lake and stormed off."

LOL, he threw the Golf Balls into a Lake, LMAO, that's funny as hell!

Oh my goodness, that is hilarious. I would have throw the whole damn bag in the water. Some of these golfers don't know how to treat their bag-man. I think that is really rude. He should have smacked him.

He might have been pushing for that. Its funny to watch the golfer and the bag person. It just never really seems as if they have a relationship of any kind. You would think that the person that carries your bag around and stands beside you would be something like your bestfriend. They come off to look like slaves, lol.

So how did they get the spectator into caddying for the golfer? Offer him a bunch of money?

I think I would have asked for a lot of money considering how much these golfers make at the tournaments

I still am not clear how a spectator ended up caddying. Did he volunteer?
  2.
That is what I would love to know.

Well I understand how heated golfers can get. But I mean that's not cool of your caddy to get heated at you. It would have been more professional had they waited till the round was over and then separated ways in the parking lot or something. But quite a story for the fan to tell.

I just re-read the story. He got paid a dozen golf b alls, and a story to tell. It does show unprofessionalism on the part of the caddy.

I hadn't heard about that. I spent an afternoon at the Bell Canadian open a few years ago and the atmosphere seemed so formal to me and out of context with a display like that.

A box of golf balls seems like pretty light payment to me.

Yeah, why even give him anything, cause he kinda mocked him by just giving him that.. haha

I guess he was willing to do it, but I still would have wanted money.

What did he just see the fan standing there and decided he would make a good bag man or did Williamson go e-nee-mi-nee-moe and Alexander just happened to be moe?
