The greens at Lochmere have deteriorated to the point where they are barely playable. A lot of bare patches and crab grass. It's almost impossible to gauge the speed of a putt because of the condition. The fairways and tee boxes are in pretty good shape, but I was very disappointed in the greens. It was a tempation to just take two and pick up. I wouldn't play the course again until the greens are reconditioned.
The course is not in great shape but the location is not bad. The staff is leveraging the location and not paying attention to the upkeep. One of the staffers can be quite arrogant. Most are quite nice.
The putting green area is also loosing it quality. The whole course stinks after rain, almost smells like a peat bog. The rates are not too expensive for afternoons. The range is not bad either. Their rates for a bucket of balls is $10 which is quite high given the absolutely pathetic quality of the balls. The range markings and grass is probably the best in the triangle.
Overall, it is an OK course. It could be made better but the staff lacks motivation it seems.
