    Maybe a sleep deprived Tiger?

Or perhaps a European on home soil?

I was going to take adam scott but his majors form is poor so i will be putting my hard found dollars i find at work from sad gamblers who just leave them in the tray of pokies on jim fuyrk. he nearly came through for me at oakmont, he is such a solid consistant player & he is due to win this year, dont think he has won this year? did anyone see the shot played out a bunker at hoylake with his putter, great imagination & that is what you need to win the open. no sleep next week & luckily my shifts fit right around it. could be appleby or scott, if you want to pick a winner you have to use your head & not your heart, to many melt downs by our boys this year not only in majors & if one of them gets up that will awesome but dont see it happening this year.

"Sergio Garcia if he’s putting well or Ernie Els "

That is the funniest thing I have heard all day….

I do hope he can get it together though.

I reckon Paul Casey is going to win one some time soon but as with all tournaments these days it really could be any one of a hundred!

Tiger has such talent and is so smart you know he’ll be there or thereabouts, but he doesn’t seem to have that absolute steel about him this year as he has had in the past.

Furyk has been on a streak for about the last 18 months and should contend, as should Lefty if his wrist is all good (and judging by his form in the Scottish Open this week it is better).

Tiger Woods will obviously be the favorite, but I would also go for each way bets on Paul Lawrie and Justin Rose. Paul Lawrie won it the last time it was played at Carnoustie and I think it is his local course, he doesn't live far from it and knows the course very well. Justin Rose also did well as a teenager here, finishing fourth and he seems to be in good form right now having finished in the top ten at the last two majors.

Tough to bet against Eldrick. Carnoustie fits his game. I hope he hits a ton of two-irons again like last year. He should run away with it. As for Phil M. - - did you see that CHOKE yesterday??? His tee-shots are gonna KILL him at Car-nasty!

It seems to me, that very rarely is someone not calling Tiger woods to be the Favorite!

I really don't think Sergio Garcia really has what it takes Carnoustie.

    What do you think?

Can Sergio Garcia hang on to take the jug?

Or are one of the chasing bunch in better shape – Choi, Jimenez, Weir, Furyk, Weekley…

Is Tiger too far back at +1 – or did he hang in despite having his statutory “off day” – leaving him in good shape to contend with a couple of 67s or better…

My thoughts – sadly I don’t think Sergio will hang on, he had a mad birdie fest on the back nine on day one, but looked a bit shaky yesterday. Choi and Furyk have been more consistent in picking up birdies on both days – but both will need to sort out the closing hole. Weir hasn’t bogeyed any hole on the back nine yet, but I think Choi or Furyk will win unless conditions turn diabolical and it turns into a lottery. Tiger won’t win.
