Phil Mickelson played in the Fry's Electronics Open mostly as a favor to his friends with the host Phoenix Thunderbird's and his pals at the Gray hawk Golf Club, a venue he helped design. Gray hawk's Raptor Course showed no such allegiance to Mickelson, who missed the cut by 1 shot. "It's disappointing," Mickelson said after shooting 1-over 141 in the first two rounds. "I would have liked to play well here with it being a course I grew up on and spent so much time (on)."
