Scare your way onto the fairway
Some holes can scare you before you've even teed off, but it doesn't have to be that way. Use those trouble-spots to your advantage. Tee up on the side of the trouble and it will encourage you to aim away and hit into the wide part of the fairway. Another good tip is to focus on a positive image before you hit the ball. If the last thing in your mind is that nasty sand-trap on the left of the fairway then chances are that's where you'll hit it.
