In the past 13 months Tadd Fujikawa has played in the United States Open and made the 36-hole cut at a PGA Tour event. Yesterday, at 16, he turned professional. He will make his pro debut in three weeks at the Tour's Reno-Tahoe Open, courtesy of a sponsor exemption. His agent said he was seeking more Tour exemptions, and Fujikawa said he hoped to play on the Nationwide, Asian and Japanese Tours.
I think it's awesome when kids are that good. I just hope that they have something to fall back on when they get burnt out.
They will get burnt out. It happens to the best of us. They have to take the big picture into account. But I am all for going with the moment, because some times this only happens once in a life time.
Thats true, I hope the parents of this kid at least taught him that much, but I honestly don't think its going to be needed for money of any kind. This little kid is going to be a millionaire. What else does he need to do?
I'm not too happy with the sound of a 16 year old actually getting to the PGA before I do. But hey I guess he has more of a passion for it than I do. I can't wait to see how he does.
I think that parents allow their kids to grow up to fast. Athletes are coming younger and younger every few years. Next thing you know we will be watching a 15 year old NFL football player.
But there is nothing with letting a child enjoy their talent and take it to the next level. If they can do it, let them do it. I don't see it being a big deal really.
There are way too many young kids out here not doing anything positive as is, so if you get one that is actually wanting to do something other than marijuana, let them go for it,lol.
