    Tiger Taking Time Off

Tiger Woods is going to put his clubs away for his longest break not related to an injury since he turned pro. After next week's Presidents Cup, the only tournament on Woods' schedule the rest of the year is his own Target World Challenge, an unofficial PGA Tour event, Dec. 13-16, at Sherwood Country Club. That's a schedule consisting of one tournament over the last three months, and it also means that Woods is passing up an estimated $10 million in appearance fees by playing in neither the HSBC Champions in China nor the Dunlop Phoenix in Japan. Don't expect him to play his first PGA Tour event of 2008 until the Buick Invitational, Jan. 24-27, meaning that he'll probably skip the Mercedes Championships at Kapalua for the third consecutive year.

Not shocked at all, I told alot of my friends that he was going to eventually take some time off. I mean doesn't he deserve to have a break for a while. I think it is well deserved that he did such a thing.

I think he does as well, he has been in the game for a while now and he has worked very very hard. I think he should have taken a break a long time ago honestly. It's been a long time coming.

re: passing up the "10 million....".

I wonder what governs his schedule at this point in his career?

It surely can't be money at this point.

It would be nice to see him play in some of the tournaments that he's rarely .. if ever played in the past.

I thought it was good to see him interacting with Mike Weir during the President's Cup.

Some other pro athletes could learn something about class and sportsmanship.

When it comes to sportsmanship in golf, there is very little of that. I don't know why but it just sees as if since it is a one mans game; no partnership. Then there isn't too much socializing.

I think because it's a one man's game. It's not really a team sport. We play for self! So why should there have to be any sportsmanship?

well I hope he doesn't take too long of a break. I enjoy watching tiger woods play. As for being a one man game, I agree with golf being a one man game.
